Dumnezeu este... (partea a II - a)

Dumnezeu este transcendent

Aceasta inseamna ca Dumnezeu este dincolo de noi si de lumea noastra. El este diferit.

Uitati-va la o piatra: Dumnezeu nu este piatra; Dumnezeu este dincolo de ea.

Uitati-va la un om: Dumnezeu nu este om; Dumnezeu este dincolo de el.

Cu toate acestea, Dumnezeu nu este atat de "dincolo" incat sa nu aiba nici o relatie cu noi si cu lumea noastra.


Este de asemenea adevarat ca Dumnezeu este imanent, ceea ce inseamna ca El este cu noi.

Uitati-va la o piatra: Dumnezeu este prezent.

Uitati-va la o perosoana: Dumnezeu este prezent.

Este teismul absurd in acest punct? Eu cred ca nu. Am invatat foarte multe in acest sens de la fiica mea Carol, pe cand avea cinci ani. Era cu mama ei in bucatarie, si sotia mea o invata ca Dumnezeu este pretutindeni. Carol a intrebat:


- Este Dumnezeu in camera de zi?
- Da, i-a raspuns mama ei.
- Este El in bucatarie?
- Da, a zis ea.
- Nu cumva calc pe Dumnezeu?


Sotia mea a ramas fara grai. Dar problema care s-a ridicat a fost aceasta: este Dumnezeu aici in acelasi fel in care este o piatra, sau un scaun, sau o bucatarie? Nu, nu chiar. Dumnezeu este imanent, aici, pretutindeni, intr-un sens cu totul in acord cu transcendenta Lui.

Caci Dumnezeu nu este materie ca tine si ca mine, ci Duh. Si totusi El este aici. In cartea Evrei din Noul Testament se spune despre Isus ca "tine toate lucrurile cu Cuvantul puterii Lui." (Evr. 1:3). Adica Dumnezeu este dincolo de toate si totusi in toate si tinandu-le pe toate.
